Arsenal may have felt that they deserved the three points against Manchester United on Wednesday night but Unai Emery’s side have now extended their unbeaten run to 19 matches in all competitions.
The Gunners did, however, suffer a significant injury blow at Old Trafford with Rob Holding expected to be out for the long-term after damaging his knee in a collision with Marcus Rashford in the first half.
Aaron Ramsey also sustained a knock to the ankle but Emery doesn’t believe the injury to be a serious one and he should be in contention for tomorrow’s game against Huddersfield.
Mesut Ozil is still a major doubt with a back injury, but Laurent Koscielny (Achilles) is fit and available. There was a scare when he was taken off when playing for Arsenal’s Under 21s against Portsmouth on Tuesday in the Checkatrade Trophy, but the Frenchman was just suffering from cramp.
The game against the Terriers may come too earlier for Nacho Monreal, though, who is still recovering after a hamstring problem, while Konstantinos Mavrapanos (groin) is on track to return before the end of the month.
The Greek’s recovery could be timely considering the injury to Holding. The Gunners have one long-term absentee in Danny Welbeck (ankle).
Huddersfield will want to recover from their 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth midweek. Manager David Wagner will be without the suspended Steve Mounie and Phillip Billing but could welcome back Chris Lowe after a shoulder injury.
Terence Kongolo picked up a knock against the Cherries and could be a doubt for Saturday, while Abdelhamid Sabiri is out for two months with a broken collarbone.
