Arsenal V Everton: Match Preview And Betting Odds

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta faces one of his old clubs as the Gunners play Everton this weekend. The Toffees have been revived under Carlo Ancelotti and the Italian’s tactical nous will prove a stern challenge for his much younger counterpart.

After a decent 1-0 win against Olympiakos midweek, the London club have now firmly put their run of draws behind them, but they did not come away from Greece unscathed. Sokratis had to be substituted late on with a suspected knee injury and he is a major doubt for Sunday’s game.

Pablo Mari (fitness) and Cedric Soares (knee) are also still sidelined, along with Kieran Tierney (shoulder) and Calum Chambers (knee). Mesut Ozil and Lucas Torreira should, however, be back in contention.

For Everton, Andre Gomes could be back in the matchday squad after making a swift recovery from a broken ankle. Bernard should be fit following a knock sustained before the winter break against Crystal Palace.

Theo Walcott (knee) is, though, a doubt while Jean-Philippe Gbamin is still sidelined with a thigh problem. Fabian Delph will return following suspension.

The bookmakers have made Arsenal the favourites with William Hill pricing them at 21/20 for the win. A draw is 27/10 with Unibet while an Everton victory is currently 11/4 at Betfred.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to Arsenal
