Arsenal Turn Attentions Towards Barcelona Star After £13.4m Offer For Banega Is Rejected

Arsenal will make a move for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez after having an offer rejected for Sevilla’s Ever Banega, according to reports in Italy.

Banega reportedly has an €18m buyout clause but the Gunners was said to be only willing to go up to €15m (£13.4m).

Instead, they are believed to be looking at Suarez, who could be available for just €10m (£9m). Chelsea have also been linked with the 24-year-old in recent weeks, with West Ham, Watford and Everton having joined the race too.

The Spanish international has made just six appearances this season and is not in Barca manager Ernesto Valverde’s first-team plans.

Suarez is capable of playing both as a central midfielder and out wide. With Henrikh Mkhitaryan sidelined with a broken foot and Aaron Ramsey seemingly destined to leave the club, the Barcelona midfielder would improve manager Unai’s Emery’s options in the middle of the park.
