Arsenal have reportedly made a £34m enquiry to sign Roma centre-back Evan N’Dicka and are monitoring the defender’s progress.
The Gunners are going to have to try and keep hold of defender William Saliba this summer as there has been reported interest in him from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Saliba has been a key part of Mikel Arteta‘s side this season, making 46 appearances and scoring two goals. He has helped Arsenal to have the strongest defence in the Premier League.
However, if Saliba does leave in the summer transfer window, Arsenal will need to find a replacement in the transfer window. According to Italian newspaper Gazetta Dello Sport, Arsenal have approached Roma to enquire about signing Evan N’Dicka, but face competition from PSG and Newcastle for his signature.
N’Dicka has made 47 appearances for Roma this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists. His contract is due to expire in June 2028. The 25-year-old is valued at around £21m, but Roma are expected to demand around £34m for him.
He could become Arsenal’s replacement for Saliba, however, if they keep Saliba, N’Dicka could still be signed as a squad depth player behind Saliba and Gabriel.
Could Saliba sell Arsenal this summer?
Despite the fact that Saliba is a key player for Arsenal, if the price is hefty enough, then the Gunners may be tempted to sell the Frenchman.
Reports have said that Arsenal would have to sell Saliba for a fee which would make him the most expensive defender in history, beating Man City’s signing of Josko Gvardiol for a fee of £76.7m in 2023.
There has also been reported interest from the Saudi Pro League for Saliba, but the defender would be expected to prefer to stay at the Emirates in order to battle for Premier League and Champions League titles.
