Arsenal are hoping to seal the signatures of both Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera whilst they are in Singapore, according to reports.
The Gunners have agreed a fee with Sporting Lisbon for Gyokeres, and The Independent claim they “plan” to fly him out for a medical.
While the game against AC Milan on Wednesday will come too early for the Swedish international to make his debut, he could be in the squad (or at the very least in the stands) to face Newcastle this weekend.
The striker is set to cost €63.5m (£55m) up front with another €10m (£8.67m) in add-ons, after negotiations with Sporting finally concluded following a long and protracted process.
What is the situation with Mosquera?
The Spanish international was pictured flying out to Singapore, despite not having been officially announced as a new Arsenal player (at the time of writing).
It is believed that Mosquera has already had his medical, and once the paperwork is completed, he will be unveiled as the club’s fifth summer signing.
There is a strong chance that the centre-back will feature against Newcastle due to how close he is to sealing his switch from Valencia.
Are Arsenal planning any further additions this summer?
Manager Mikel Arteta is said to be keen on signing at least one more forward before the transfer window shuts on September 1st.
However, the chances of a bid being made for Eberechi Eze have diminished. Respected journalist Sami Mokbel had said he was expecting a “formal approach” from the Gunners for the 27-year-old, but it has subsequently been suggested that a move is now on the back burner.
While an offer for Eze has not been completely ruled out, other options are now under consideration, with RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons also a target.
