“What A Signing!” – Dean Saunders Backs Arsenal To Make Sensational Swoop For 111 Goal Ex PL Star

Ex-Wales striker Dean Saunders claims Arsenal should consider making an offer for Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane.

The former Liverpool player is likely to leave the Allianz Arena after just one season and Saunders believes that the Gunners would have a great chance of winning the Premier League title if they brought him back to England:

“I have got one for you, he might win you (Arsenal) the league. Mane. What a signing would that be! He plays anywhere. He plays down the middle.”

Mane scored 111 Premier League goals during his spells at Southampton and Liverpool so he would certainly be a goal threat were he to return to English football.

There are doubts, however, about his age. At 31, he isn’t exactly getting any younger and he would only be a short-term solution if manager Mikel Arteta wants to add more firepower up front.

Arsenal’s transfer priorities lie elsewhere

It does appear as if the Gunners won’t be focusing on signing forwards this summer. From the looks of things, strengthening the midfield and defence have been prioritised.

If Arteta’s side land West Ham captain Declan Rice, it is now believed that they may then pursue Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

A new centre-back, right-back and potentially a left-back are also under consideration as the London club look to improve on last season’s 2nd-place finish.

A striker could be leaving the Emirates

Rather than strengthing the forward line, it seems Arsenal may be about to lose a key asset up front. Reports suggest that representatives of Folarin Balogun have met with the club this week to discuss his future.

The American international had a very successful loan spell at Stade de Reims, where he scored 21 goals in all competitions, but he is pressing for a permanent move away from the Emirates. The striker is said to be keen on getting more first team football.
