Arsenal Preparing £250,000+ Per Week Contract Extension After Saliba Agrees New Deal

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to make Bukayo Saka their highest-paid player after signing Saliba to a new deal.

The Gunners have had a very good weekend. Firstly, their title rivals Liverpool lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace, Arsenal then beat Newcastle 2-1 on Sunday, and furthermore, William Saliba signed a new five year contract.

Saliba’s new deal is understood to be worth around £250,000 per week, with the Gunners spending big to fend off any transfer interest from Real Madrid, which had been reported involving Saliba.

Upon signing, the defender told Arsenal’s official website: “I feel at home. We have a good team, we have a good squad, we have good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so it’s the best place to be. I enjoy every day when I have the chance to wear this shirt. I try to give everything, and now I’ll give even more to this club and to the fans.”

Arsenal want to sign Saka after securing Saliba deal

The Saliba contract was certainly a great step to success for the Gunners, but they still have the issue of Bukayo Saka, whose current deal is due to expire in June 2027. Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Saka over a new deal to keep him at the Emirates for the long-term.

According to a report by the Express, Saka knows his value to Arsenal, and so will be demanding a hefty wage bill. The report says that Arsenal are preparing to make the England international their highest-paid player, which means they would have to better the £250k per week contract that Saliba recently agreed.

Saka could end up earning close to £300k per week, but the Gunners believe that this is a financial sacrifice to make, to ensure their starboy stays at the club, and helps to hopefully bring a Premier League title back to the Emirates.
