Rodrygo Signed, Martinelli Sold: Arsenal Dream Attacking Options Next Season

Arsenal are keen on transforming their attacking unit in order to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title.

The Gunners are yet to make any signings in attack, but it is understood that they will at least sign a striker and a winger, if not more.

Mikel Arteta’s side had a better defensive record than league title winners Liverpool last season, however, they scored seven fewer goals, something that the Arsenal boss would like to rectify in order to win their first Premier League trophy since the invincible season of 2003/04.

But what will the Gunners do in attack to make sure this happens. We decided to predict all the attacking moves that Arsenal will make in this summer transfer window…

Rodrygo signs for Arsenal

Firstly, the Gunners are looking to bring in a left-winger. The ‘dream’ name that has been included in reports is Real Madrid star Rodrygo, who is expected to command a transfer fee of around £70m.

It is understood that Madrid are reluctant to sell him, but the Gunners want to, and if the player can be convinced, there is no reason why Arsenal wouldn’t be able to get a deal done for him.

Last season, Rodrygo scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists for Real Madrid in 53 appearances in all competitions. He would be an excellent addition to Arteta’s starting XI.

Gabriel Martinelli sold to Bayern Munich

If the Gunners were to sign Rodrygo, they would potentially need to sell in order to balance the books. One name that has been linked with a move away is Martinelli, who is subject to interest from Bayern Munich.

Martinelli has been good without being spectacular for Arsenal, and so most fans would agree that selling him to get Rodrygo would be a move worth making.

Last season, the Brazil international made 51 appearances for Arteta’s side last season, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

Gyokeres joins the Gunners

Next up is the striker position. Arsenal have been linked to the likes of Benjamin Sesko, and Hugo Ekitike, however Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres seems the current frontrunner.

Reports have said that Arsenal are confident that they can land the Swedish international this summer, and that he will be their number nine next season, despite interest from Man United.

Last season, the 26-year-old was incredible for Sporting, scoring 54 goals in 52 games in all competitions, that will help Arsenal catch up to Liverpool.

Arsenal sign Madueke to backup Saka

Finally, Arsenal have also reportedly made an approach to sign Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, who is expected to cost around £50m from the Blues.

With Madueke being a natural right-winger, he would be brought in to be the backup to Bukayo Saka, who last year, ended up suffering a hamstring injury that kept him out for over three months.

Arsenal will want to avoid the same happening, and so could sign Madueke, who scored 11 goals and provided five assists for Enzo Maresca’s side last season.
