Arsenal are among the clubs keeping tabs on West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus, according to the Daily Mail reporter Sami Mokbel.
The journalist, who is usually pretty reliable when it comes to transfers, says the Gunners and Liverpool are weighing up bids for the Ghanaian international who has an £85m release clause in his contract..
Fans on X are split on whether spending so much on Kudus would be a good idea, especially as there are other positions that need to be strengthened too:
Buy him

No club will trigger that release clause

we should have signed him when he was at Ajax, now he costs too much

Left hand side needs definite reinforcement with the possibility for someone to start over Martinelli, so why not. Would see improvements all over the pitch.

Kudus would take some of the weight off Saka
The 24-year-old’s best position is on the right wing, cutting in onto his stronger left foot, so he could be targeted to provide competition for Bukayo Saka.
Manager Mikel Arteta doesn’t really have any like-for-like alternatives for his No.7 so bringing in Kudus would take some of the burden off Saka’s shoulders.
Arsenal need a centre-forward
While Kudus would be a good addition to the squad, you can’t see the Gunners splashing out £85m on a player who may not start every week.
If the club do spend that sort of money next summer, you would think that they would use it to sign a top-drawer No.9.
Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres has a buyout clause set at almost the exact same price and many supporters would probably prefer to buy the Swedish striker ahead of Kudus.
