‘Time To Cash Out’ ‘Shouldn’t Be Selling Anybody Now’ Fans React To Claims That Arsenal Have Received £19M Bid

Besiktas have tabled an offer worth €22m (£19m) for Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard, according to reports in Turkey.

Newspaper Sozcu claims that the Super Lig side are waiting for a response from the Gunners on their proposal.

Supporters on X are split on whether they would sanction Trossard’s sale. Some believe it makes sense to offload the 30-year-old, while others disagree, as he can’t be replaced:

Trossard signed a new contract last month

The Belgian international put pen to paper on a deal in August which saw him handed an increase in his salary. Significantly, though, his contract was not extended beyond 2027.

It means Trossard’s value will continue to depreciate over the next 12 to 18 months, and the club are unlikely to get higher bids than the one they have reportedly received from Besiktas.

Arsenal do have cover on the left wing

It does look like Eberechi Eze will be deployed in Trossard’s position based on the fact that he replaced Gabriel Martinelli when he came as a substitute against Liverpool last weekend.

Some fans have suggested that they would prefer Martinelli to leave, considering his poor form, but the Gunners are unlikely to receive an offer that is commensurate with his value.

With that being the case, there is some logic to selling Trossard, but it remains to be seen what the club will decide.
