Arsenal are pondering a late move for Southampton fullback Kyle-Walker-Peters, according to TEAMtalk.
The website claims that the Gunners could make an approach for the 26-year-old before the transfer window closes next week.
Fans on X are rather sceptical about signing Walker-Peters, with many questioning whether the former Tottenham player will add anything of value to the first-team squad:

Squad depth is important. Quality shouldn’t drop too much though. Just think about Cedric or Rob Holding…

Walker-Peters could be deployed in the inverted fullback role
It is believed that Arsenal are looking at signing a versatile defender ahead of deadline day and the England international could fit the bill.
Walker-Peters is a right-footed fullback but he has been deployed regularly on the left-hand side of defence over the years. That means he could provide some cover for Oleksandr Zinchenko in the absence of the injured Jurrien Timber.
Arsenal could have competition for the player
Despite having stayed at Southampton when they were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, the Gunners are not the only top-flight team who have shown an interest in Walker-Peters.
His former club Spurs and Chelsea have both been mentioned as potential suitors. Their involvement could complicate matters as it could lead to Southampton upping their price for the right-back. We shall see who decides to make a formal bid for him over the next week or so.
