Arsenal are preparing to make a move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman who is keen on joining a Premier League team.
The 28-year-old has spent the past seven seasons at Bayern in the Bundesliga, but his contract remains active at the Allianz Arena until 2027.
However, former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany’s Bayern are listening to offers for Coman who made just 17 league appearances last season, scoring three goals.
According to Football Insider, Bayern will allow the winger to leave on loan this summer with an option to buy after one season at his new club.
Coman is reportedly keen on a move to Arsenal but would want assurances over his playing time due to the recent inconsistency that he has faced at Bayern.
The Gunners aren’t the only big European side whose interest has been piqued by the possibility of landing a World Cup winner on loan before the August 3oth deadline.
Arsenal face competition for Kingsley Coman
Arsenal seems to be the only Premier League club interested in landing Coman, however, both Barcelona and PSG are keen on him according to CaughtOffside.
The competition may cause Coman to pick his preferred destination, or Bayern to where they want him to play.
All three clubs threaten the German giants in the Champions League, so it may be the case that the Munich-based club doesn’t have a preference between the three sides.
A couple of down years for Bayern Munich
Kingsley Coman’s reputation as a pacey, exciting winger has stood for several years. Coming through the ranks at PSG and then moving to Juventus, he quickly became a star.
He has made 57 appearances for the French national side, winning a World Cup in 2018. He also has eight German league titles, two French league titles, two Italian league titles, and a Champions League to his resume.
However, the past two seasons have been poor for the 28-year-old who made 24 and 17 appearances in each respectively. He only has 11 goals over the past two years and his minutes have declined since 2020.
It seems that this summer would be the perfect time for a move to benefit Bayern and Kingsley Coman, but where will he choose?
