Arsenal and Chelsea have both reportedly approached Juventus over forward Kenan Yildiz. 

The Gunners had a busy summer transfer window, as some of their new signings are already starting to make major impacts for Mikel Arteta’s side. Eberechi Eze scored his first Arsenal goal on Wednesday night against Port Vale in the Carabao Cup.

He joins new signings Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi, who have already provided several goal contributions since joining Arsenal in the summer.

However, the Gunners aren’t done yet, and Arsenal will want to secure more attacking talent in January to help propel them to a Premier League title. They have recently been linked to signing Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz alongside Chelsea. It is understood that both clubs have made approaches to the Serie A club for the Turkish international.

However, according to Goal.com in Italy, Juventus don’t want to sell Yildiz, and have rejected Arsenal and Chelsea’s approaches, slapping a huge £70m price tag on the 20-year-old.

Arsenal and Chelsea should target Roma’s Soule instead

Seeing as Yildiz seems to be an unlikely target for the Gunners, they should consider alternative targets, and there is a similar player out there, who could be available for a much lower price.

Running Yildiz’s name through Data MB’s player comparison tool, a name that appears similar to Yildiz is Roma attacker Matias Soule. So far this season, the 22-year-old’s stats beat Yildiz’s when looking at key passes, crossing and dribbling.

They also match up very similarly when it comes to assists and goals. So far this season, Soule has two goals and one assist in five games for Roma, and his estimated market value is just £26m, making him a much cheaper alternative to Yildiz. The benefits are, he is much cheaper, he is still young, and his Serie A stats are just as impressive; Certainly one to consider for Arsenal and Chelsea in January.
