Arsenal are still keen on signing Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, according to reports.

Turkish-Football claim that the Gunners are “actively pursuing a blockbuster move” for the 21-year-old.

Despite having had a previous approach knocked back by Juve, it is believed that the Premier League champions have renewed their efforts after Yildiz’s return from the World Cup.

Persuading his club to sell remains the biggest stumbling block, and the Turkish international could well cost in excess of €100m (£86m).

Arsenal are looking at alternatives for Rogers

After it was reported that Aston Villa may demand close to £130m for Morgan Rogers, it is not a surprise that sporting director Andrea Berta is seeking out other options.

When asked about his price tag, the England international disagreed with the valuation placed on him by his club:

“I’m not sure I’m worth all of that! It’s nice to hear that from people, but I don’t let outside noise affect me.”

Rogers reportedly wants to join the Gunners, but he is in danger of being priced out of a move this summer.

Comparing Yildiz and Rogers

The two players hit double figures for both goals and assists last season, but Rogers does have a slight edge over the Turkish playmaker.

Yildiz scored 11 times and contributed 10 assists, while Rogers found the back of the net 14 times and provided 12 assists.

Of course, only one of them is Premier League proven, so it is understandable why an offer for Rogers was prioritised.

However, Villa’s excessive demands have likely changed Arsenal’s attitude somewhat, and their renewed efforts to recruit Yildiz instead indicate they have decided to pursue an alternative who might end up being slightly less expensive.

Juventus won’t let their star man leave without a fight, though. He only signed a new four and a half year contract earlier this year.
