Arsenal are keeping tabs on Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez, according to The Mirror.
The English tabloid claims that the Gunners may have difficulties meeting the 24-year-old’s £80m valuation but they are “monitoring” the player’s situation.
Supporters on X believe that Alvarez is not worth his current price tag and many are reluctant to recruit another player from Mikel Arteta’s former club:
They won’t sell to us again!!!

It’s not worth it(£80m), in my opinion should go for RW rather than CF

What has Alvarez said about his future?
The Argentinian international sparked transfer speculation last month when he spoke out to say that he wasn’t completely happy with his game time at the Etihad:
“I haven’t stopped to think about what I’m going to do Last season I was one of the players who played the most minutes in the team. But it’s true: in the end, in some important games, it’s not pleasant to be left out. I will have time to consider my decision. I haven’t stopped to think things through calmly. Once the Olympic Games are over, I will take the time to reflect on what I want for myself.”
Arsenal are not the only team pursuing the forward
Reports in Argentina have suggested that Atletico Madrid are pressing ahead with a move for Alvarez, while journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain have seriously considered making a bid for the player.
There could be competition from other Premier League clubs as well, with Chelsea said to be watching developments.
