Arsenal are keeping tabs on Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, according to The Telegraph.
A move for the Netherlands Under 21 international this month is said to be “highly complicated” due to difficulties with Financial Fair Play. He could cost as much as £50m but there is genuine interest in the forward.
Despite Zirkzee seemingly being a player who is highly rated by Arsenal‘s recruitment team, supporters on X are not particularly enthused about the prospect of signing him:
Never heard of him

Zirkzee is not the prolific No.9 that fans were hoping for
Despite his high price tag, the Dutchman hasn’t exactly been pulling up trees since moving to Bologna from Bayern Munich last summer.
Zirkzee has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in 22 appearances. That is hardly a record to strike fear into opposition defences.
Arsenal will also have competition for the player
The Gunners are not the only Premier League club who have been linked with Zirkzee in recent weeks, with Manchester United, Newcastle and West Ham having been mentioned as potential suitors.
It should also be noted that the 22-year-old’s previous club Bayern have a buyback clause that can be triggered at the end of the season. It means any club may want to get a deal done this month as there is a good chance he will return to Germany otherwise.
