Arsenal ‘Willing To Sell’ Champions League Winner Just Six Months After Signing Him For £12M

Arsenal are “willing to sell” Jorginho this summer, according to 90min.com reporters Toby Cudworth and Graeme Bailey.

The Gunners only signed the Champions League winner from Chelsea for £12m during the January transfer window but there is openness to letting him leave if a suitable offer arrives in the coming weeks.

Jorginho has started ten games following his arrival from Stamford Bridge, making 16 appearances in total, but it is felt that his signing was only really a stop-gap measure.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen to revamp his midfield and, with the club pursuing both Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo, there is a feeling that Jorginho won’t have a great deal of game time next season.

The Italian international is not expected to be forced out but the player may see that the writing is on the wall if a number of players soon arrive at the Emirates who could take his place in the starting lineup.

Where could Jorginho go if he leaves Arsenal?

A return to Italy is the likeliest option for the 31-year-old. His former manager Maurizio Sarri is now at Lazio, and a move to Rome is a genuine possibility.

Jorginho’s former club, Serie A champions Napoli, may also consider re-signing the midfielder, while AC Milan could enter the mix as well.

Jorginho is not the only Arsenal midfielder with an uncertain future

It is believed that Granit Xhaka has an agreement in place to join Bayer Leverkusen, but a deal will not be finalised before the Gunners have found a replacement.

Albert Sambi Lokonga could follow Xhaka out the exit door. The Belgian struggled during a loan spell at Crystal Palace last season and Arsenal may allow him to leave on a permanent basis if they receive a good enough offer. Newly promoted Burnley are reportedly among his suitors.
