Arsenal ‘Join The Race To Sign’ Player Who Has ‘Ballon d’Or Type Potential’ – Report

Arsenal are the latest club to “join the race to sign” Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala, according to TBRFootball.

The website claims that the Gunners are keeping a watchful eye on the German international, who has “Ballon d’Or Type potential”.

Musiala has already attracted interest from clubs in England, with Manchester City and Liverpool having been linked with the player in recent months.

At the weekend, it was also reported that Manchester United were keeping tabs on the 21-year-old, who came through the academy at Chelsea.

Is Musiala on the market?

Considering his outstanding talent, Bayern would be very reluctant to let him go, but there are issues with his contract.

Musiala has less than two years left to run on his current deal and it has been claimed that he has turned down the latest offer that Bayern have put on the table.

It is believed that the midfielder is holding out for a salary of around £300,000 a week. That is more than Arsenal’s highest earner, who is said to be Kai Havertz. However, it isn’t that much more than the 25-year-old, who is taking home £280,000 a week. A lot may depend on how determined Bayern are to keep Musiala.

Arsenal do have more pressing needs

While any team would like to sign a player of Musiala’s calibre, you do feel that the Gunners’ resources would be better spent on bringing in a recognised No.9.

Mikel Arteta’s side did try to buy Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig back in June before the Slovenian opted to stay in Germany. A good alternative could be Viktor Gyokeres. The Sporting Lisbon forward has carried on from where he left off last season, hitting the back of the net 8 times in 6 appearances this campaign.

Even so, if Musiala is made available in a future transfer window, it seems as if the London club will be in the mix for his signature.
