Arsenal Draw Up 3 Man Shortlist To Replace Ben White – Report

Arsenal have identified three potential replacements for Ben White, according to reports.

White is one of five first-team players who are expected to be sold by the Gunners in order to make way for fresh blood at the end of the season.

The Sun claim Sporting Lisbon’s Ivan Fresneda, Newcastle’s Tino Livramento, and Celta Vigo’s Oscar Mingueza are the names under consideration to replace him.

It seems the trio have been targeted based on cost, with each in contrasting price brackets.

Livramento is the most expensive

Newcastle are expected to sanction the sale of their right-back this summer, but a fee in the region of £60m may be needed to secure his signature.

Manchester City have already backed away from a deal for Livramento due to concerns about his injury record, and Arsenal may have second thoughts as well.

Fresneda is likely seen as a more cost-effective solution. He does have an €80m (£69.4m) release clause, but The Sun report that the Spaniard is expected to be sold for considerably less than that.

Sporting are open to offers as the player is closing in on the final two years of his contract.

Mingueza is the bargain bin option for Arsenal

The Gunners do need to raise funds from sales in order to supplement their transfer budget, and with the London club also hoping to strengthen the front three, there may not be much left over for a right-back.

That could lead them to pursue Mingueza, who is set to be available on a free transfer. His contract expires at the end of June.

The fullback has actually been linked with Newcastle as a potential replacement for Livramento, while West Ham and Aston Villa have been mentioned as other possible suitors.
