Arsenal are weighing up a potential summer move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, according to reports in France.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has hinted that the Gunners like the 22-year-old, while RMC Sportย reporter Fabrice Hawkins has said that there are “at least three Premier League clubs” who are interested in the player.
Fans on X are split on whether Mikel Arteta’s side should target Ekitike. While most believe he is a good player, some feel the club should prioritise deals for either Newcastle’s Alexander Isak or RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko instead:
Would be an excellent signing btw. Much better than Sesko

Ekitike’s numbers compare favourably to Sesko’s
Since joining Frankfurt on a permanent basis from Paris Saint-Germain last year, the Frenchman has been in impressive form, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists in 32 appearances.
Playing in the same league, Benjamin Sesko has found the back of the net 15 times and contributed 4 assists in 31 games. Ekitike is edging the Slovenian international in the numbers currently.
Up until now, his performances have been overshadowed by Omar Marmoush but, after the Egyptian’s move to Manchester City in January, he has taken on more responsibility.
Arsenal will have to consider their options carefully
Many supporters believe that the Gunners should go all in on Isak but he could cost between ยฃ130m and ยฃ150m. The question is – is it a good idea to blow the entire transfer budget on one player?
If the club decide it isn’t then they may go after Ekitike and sign additional players (like Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi) to strengthen the squad even further.
