“Not Winning A Title”, “Shambolic Window”: Arsenal Fans React To Reported Interest In £85m Gyokeres And Sesko Alternative

Arsenal fans have been reacting to the news that the Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike rather than Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyokeres.

Signing a striker is the big headline of Arsenal’s transfer window, as virtually everyone was saying that they needed one last year. Instead, they didn’t bring in a number nine, and played Kai Havertz up front instead.

Since the season ended, it had been reported that Arsenal are interested in both Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, and felt as though they were going to sign one of those two options.

However, now, according to a report by German news outlet BILD, Hugo Ekitike has emerged as a serious contender for the Gunners instead of Sesko or Gyokeres. The Frenchman has also been linked with Chelsea and Man United in the past. Arsenal fans took to social media to react to the news…

Why Arsenal haven’t signed Sesko or Gyokeres yet

All the talk surrounding Sesko, is that the Slovenian international’s wage demands are nowhere near what Arsenal wanted to pay, so the talks with him have hit a stalemate.

Meanwhile, there is a grey area as to exactly how much Gyokeres could cost. He has an £85m release clause, but it is understood that Sporting would be willing to sell him for less. However, it isn’t clear as to how much the Gunners are willing to spend on him.

Ekitike doesn’t have a release clause, but it is has been said that Frankfurt want around £85m for him, which if that is the case, would make him the most expensive of the three.
