Journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that Arsenal and Chelsea target Xavi Simons wants to move to the Premier League.
The Gunners have already added Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, but they are also looking to bring in another winger to challenge Gabriel Martinelli on the left-hand-side. They have been linked to Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, and Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.
However, it has now emerged that Arsenal have identified RB Leipzig winger Xavi Simons as a potential transfer target instead. Simons has been linked to several Premier League clubs, including rivals Chelsea too.
Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Chelsea and Arsenal among clubs attentive to Xavi Simons situation this summer. He’s prepared to leave Leipzig as revealed since May and Premier League top clubs are informed. No bids or talks yet.”

Last season, the 22-year-old Dutch international made 33 appearances for Leipzig, scoring 11 goals, and providing eight assists. His preferred position is on the left, but he can also play as an attacking midfielder in the middle.
Would Simons be a good signing for Arsenal?
The Dutchman is an exciting young talent. He likes to pick up the ball and carry it down to the by-line. Simons is also very adept when cutting inside too, much like Bukayo Saka, meaning he could compliment the England international very well.
He also has an electric burst of pace, which is useful when trying to get in behind the opposing defence, something that Arsenal also like to do.
The 22-year-old’s versatile nature could also be very good for Mikel Arteta if he would like to play more of an attacking midfield with a shadow striker later on in a match if he needs another goal. Simons would be an excellent addition for the Gunners. He has an estimated market value of £61 million, so has a similar cost to Eze, and a cheaper price than Rodrygo.
