‘Meh’ ‘He’s Very Good’ – Fans React As Arsenal Join 4 Other Clubs In Making Enquiries For Brazilian Midfield Dynamo

Arsenal have made enquiries about signing Atalanta midfielder Ederson, according to Goal Brasil.

The Gunners are one of five clubs interested in the 24-year-old, with Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain also keen on securing the player’s signature.

Fans on X are not sure what to make of the rumours, with some not particularly excited about the prospect of Ederson moving to the Emirates:

Arsenal are in the market for a midfielder

Over the past month or so, Mikel Arteta’s side have been credited with an interest in the likes of Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, Everton’s Amadou Onana, Boca Juniors’ Ezequiel Fernandez and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

Considering Ederson’s profile and age, it is not a complete surprise that the former Brazilian youth international has come onto their radar.

Ederson could be a replacement for Thomas Partey

With Partey closing in on the final year of his contract, it is expected that the Ghanaian international will be sold at the end of the season. With Ederson having similar attributes, it is a strong possibility that he is being targeted as a potential successor.

Goal Brasil claim that the enquiries from Arsenal and other clubs are being been made in view to a summer move, with a transfer this month deemed unlikely. That does make sense, especially when you consider Arteta’s comments earlier this week when he said that signing players in January had proven difficult:

“It wasn’t possible [to do deals in January]. Now we didn’t have the capacity to improve the team in the way that we think we want to improve it. So we decided not to do something yet.”
