Arsenal remain the favourites to sign Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze this summer, despite interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
The Gunners have already made some much-needed additions in attack, by signing striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, and also adding Noni Madueke from Chelsea. Madueke will be Bukayo Saka’s backup, whereas Gyokeres will be the long-awaited number nine.
However, it is understood that Arsenal want to also sign a player to star on the left-hand-side, challenging Gabriel Martinelli for the starting spot next season.
They have been linked to two main names. Firstly, Real Madrid’s Rodrygo remains a target for the Gunners, but he is expected to command a fee of nearly £80m, so Arsenal would likely have to sell before buying.
Crystal Palace star Eze is also a target for Arteta. He has a £68m release clause, but is also generating interest from rivals. Recent reports have linked the England star to Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Tottenham amongst others, but where is he most likely to go?
Arsenal remain the bookies’ favourites to sign Eze
Amid the vast amount of interest in the Crystal Palace star, we decided to see where the bookmakers believe Eze will go this summer, and it seems that the Gunners are still the front-runners.
According to Oddschecker, Eze’s most likely club next season is Arsenal at odds of 1/3, giving it a 75% chance of happening according to the bookies. That is ahead of the scenario in which Eze remains at Palace, which has odds of 7/2 (22.2%).
After Arsenal and Palace, the next favourites to have Eze next season is Tottenham (12/1), despite the fact that they opted to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham instead.
Chelsea are the fourth favourites at (14/1), with reports suggesting that the Blues could go after the England international to replace Madueke.
Bayern Munich are the first non-English team on the list at odds of 16/1. It has been said that they would like to re-unite Eze with his former Palace teammate Michael Olise.
Completing the top 10, we have PSG, Everton (25/1), Real Madrid, Newcastle and Manchester City (33/1). But either way, at a 75% probability, it looks, as far as the bookmakers are concerned, that Eze to Arsenal is a deal waiting to happen.
