‘Player Of Huge Interest’ – Report Claims Arsenal Want £213K p/w Striker Who Has Scored Braces In His Last 2 Games

Arsenal are keeping tabs on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to HITC Football.

The website claim that the Serbian international is “a player of huge interest” to the Gunners, who previously attempted to sign him before he joined Juve just under two years ago.

Vlahovic has been in red-hot form in recent weeks, having scored braces against Sassuolo and Lecce in his last two games for his club.

The goals have played an important role in helping Juventus move to the top of the Serie A table.

Arsenal could have an opportunity to sign the forward

Vlahovic is Juventus’s top earner. He is reportedly taking home around £213,000 a week, and that has put a big pressure on the Serie A club’s finances, who did not qualify for the Champions League this season.

HITC claim that intermediaries offered the 23-year-old to Arsenal (as well as Chelsea and Manchester United) in the summer as the Bianconeri tried to cut their wage bill. While the player ultimately stayed, his salary remains a talking point. The Gunners could, therefore, take advantage of the situation.

Is Vlahovic a target for the January transfer window?

Arsenal do not have the resources to finance a move for the Serbian this month. The forward is also unlikely to be interested in making the switch midseason either.

In terms of the summer, a lot depends on Vlahovic’s form. If he continues to score goals, it is believed that Juventus will try and tie him down to a new deal.

It is certainly a transfer to keep an eye on, as Mikel Arteta’s side have a longstanding interest in the striker, but fans shouldn’t be expecting a bid for him any time soon.
