Arsenal should hijack Manchester United’s move to sign Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo rather than signing Chelsea star Noni Madueke.
The Gunners want to add winger talent this summer, and have been heavily linked with Madueke. The most recent reports have said that the English winger has agreed to join Arsenal, and the only thing left to do is agree a transfer fee.
It is understood that any deal for Madueke will cost at least £5om, which is a lot of money considering that he will likely play as a backup to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
There were reports saying that Martinelli would leave the club this summer, however, it has now been confirmed that the Brazilian won’t be going anywhere. So, instead of signing a winger that is arguably worse than their current options, Arsenal should consider signing a better one.
Arsenal should sign Mbeumo
Manchester United have seen two bids rejected by Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo, and it is understood that the Bees would like at least £65m for the Cameroon international.
Seeing as the Red Devils appear to be taking their time over a move to sign him, Arsenal could come in with an offer over £65m and ‘steal’ him from the Red Devils. It has been reported that Mbeumo wants to join United, however, he would surely prefer to join Arsenal as they are challenging for the title, and have Champions League football. Furthermore, it would keep him in London, something that would also benefit his family.
From an Arsenal perspective, they would be getting a far more productive winger in Mbeumo rather than Madueke, and they’d be getting someone that is no stranger to a 20-goal season. The Gunners need more goals in order to catch up to Liverpool.
They have been linked with Mbeumo in the past, so why not re-ignite that interest and make a move to sign the Brentford star, preventing Man United from getting their man.
