Ajax’s Brian Brobbey is one of two strikers that Arsenal are actively pursuing, according to The Independent.
The website claims that the Dutchman and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak “top the list” of targets as the Gunners look to secure a new No.9.
Brobbey has had an impressive season for Ajax, scoring 22 goals in all competitions, but supporters on X are less than convinced about his credentials:
He would make Nketiah look like Henry regen!

Not good enough.
Give us from these four:
1. Sesko
2. Gyökeres
3. Vlahovic
4. Isak— Kay_ (@kaiyemomisirere) May 20, 2024
Nope

No where near the level we need. Technically pretty poor

Not interested. I need a striker with experience at the top level.

I never want to see him near my club

Brobbey has talked up a move to the Emirates
Just a few days ago, the Netherlands international mentioned Arsenal as a potential destination if he chooses to leave Ajax this summer:
“Arsenal, I think that is a very nice club. If you look at that stadium. A very nice club, but that also applies to Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid. I have a contract until 2027. At the moment I am just with Ajax.”
It would be a risky move for Arsenal
Brobbey came through Ajax’s academy but he has left the Eredivisie club once before. An ill-fated switch to RB Leipzig lasted just one season before he returned to the Netherlands.
He is certainly a better player now but, as fans have pointed out, there are much better options available on the transfer market. In addition to Isak, the club are interested in Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres.
