Journalist Confirms Arsenal Have “Recently Contacted” Club About Signing £26M Rated Brazilian

Arsenal are exploring a move for Corinthians midfielder Breno Bidon, according to journalist Samir Carvalho

Speaking on the Cafe do Setorista YouTube channel, Carvalho revealed that the Gunners are one of three teams who have “recently contacted” Corinthians about the player:

“Bidon already had a lot of clout in the market; many clubs were interested in him, as I’ve already mentioned here, including the City [Football] Group, Porto, Benfica, and so on. And now Arsenal’s name has emerged.”

“Arsenal is one of the clubs that recently contacted Corinthians, so we’ll wait and see. Oh, [one more] important thing about Bidon: three clubs contacted Corinthians, but none have yet made a formal offer. I think it’s good to keep you informed.”

“So, three clubs contacted Corinthians, but none of the three (one I know is Arsenal, I don’t know about the other two) have made an official offer… Corinthians said that, depending on the price, yes [they will sell]. Okay. So now offers for Breno Bidon should arrive.”

What do fans need to know about Bidon?

Despite still only being 20 years of age, the Brazilian has recently racked up 100 senior appearances for Corinthians, hitting the century mark against Vasco da Gama in the second leg of the Brazilian Cup final, which they won earlier this month.

Bidon is a very versatile player, having played as a no.8, a no.10, a holding midfielder and on both wings across the course of the 2025 season.

It should be pointed out that he has attracted interest from Manchester United over the past 12 months, in addition to City and the Gunners.

How much would Arsenal need to pay?

There is a €100m (£87m) release clause, but it is very unlikely that Bidon’s club would hold out for that much.

While Carvalho does not mention a figure specifically, he does confirm that Corinthians are open to selling  Bidon in January. Other sources have mentioned a potential asking price of around €30m (£26m).
