Arsenal are keeping tabs on Real Madrid attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz in addition to Arda Guler, according to TBRFootball.
The website claims that Brahim could be allowed to leave the Bernabeu during the next transfer window, and the Gunners are “watching the situation closely.”
Brahim is not believed to be happy with his playing time with Real, having started just two matches in all competitions this season.
TBR claim that the player is currently not available but there is a possibility his club could change their stance and sanction a move, potentially on loan.
What do fans need to know about Brahim?
The Moroccan international came through the ranks of Manchester City, making his senior debut against Swansea City in September 2016. Manager Mikel Arteta worked with the player during his time as assistant at the Etihad so he will be well aware of his abilities.
Brahim left England for Real Madrid in January 2019 but it wasn’t long before he was on the move again as he joined AC Milan on loan. He spent two years with the Rossoneri before returning to Spain last summer.
The midfielder made a good impression at Real last campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing 9 assists in 44 appearances but he has found himself on the periphery this season.
Arsenal are not the only team interested in the player
It is believed that two of his former clubs, Milan and City, would be open to re-signing Brahim, while Tottenham and Newcastle are also said to be keen on securing his services.
Arteta’s past connection with Diaz may help persuade the player to join the Gunners. He could provide much-needed cover for the likes of Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka if he were to make the switch to the Emirates in January.
