Arsenal Make Fresh Bid To Sign £70M Striker With Just One Week Until Transfer Deadline Day

Arsenal have reportedly made a ‘huge bid’ for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko according to fresh reports.

The Gunners are aiming to sign a striker in the January transfer window, as look to keep pace with Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

Mikel Arteta has made it clear that they are working hard to improve the squad in the January window, and are keen to sign a striker. But they are running out of time, with just one week left in the transfer window.

Arsenal come off a 1-0 win against Wolves in the Premier League, in which they got a look at attacker Matheus Cunha, who they have identified as a target, however, they have reportedly made a bid on a different target.

According to the Standard, Arsenal have made a ‘huge new bid’ for Benjamin Sesko, who has been a target of the Gunners since the summer transfer window.

RB Leipzig have been said to have priced Sesko at £70m according to Sky Sports, so this new bid from Arsenal may be close to that mark, if not exceeding it.

The Slovenian attacker has been in good form for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring 14 goals and contributing eight assists in all competitions. He could provide Arteta with a tall target man, who can be a top Premier League striker for several years due to his age of just 21.

Reports suggests Matheus Cunha wants Arsenal move

The same report by the Standard has reported that Wolves striker Matheus Cunha is trying to target a move to the Emirates, as the Gunners have been heavily linked with him.

Cunha has been subject to interest from Nottingham Forest too, but the draw of Champions League football, and a title fight this season would likely be enough to convince the Brazilian to join the Gunners.

He is yet to sign a new contract at Molineux, and that could likely be because he is aiming for a move away this month, as per the report.
