‘Bargain’ ‘Not Bad Tbh’ ‘Where Do We Sign?’ Arsenal Fans React As Club Lower Top Target’s Asking Price

RB Leipzig are “willing to talk” to clubs who are prepared to pay €70m (£59m) for Arsenal transfer target Benjamin Sesko, according to reports in Germany.

The Slovenian international’s release clause is said to be around €80m (£67m), although there are suggestions that this is only a gentleman’s agreement rather than a binding one.

German tabloid Bild claim that Leipzig are flexible on the asking price and that has led many Gunners supporters on X to urge their club to step up their attempts to buy Sesko:

Sesko’s price tag will attract other potential suitors

It is believed that both Manchester United and Liverpool have also considered making bids for the 22-year-old, and this latest update on his valuation may encourage Arsenal’s rivals to make their move.

However, it must be emphasised that, up until now, the Gunners have been the only club who have had direct contact with Leipzig about a deal.

Arsenal have a decision to make between Sesko and Gyokeres

The fact that Sporting Lisbon are looking to get €65m (£55m) for Viktor Gyokeres means that there is no longer a discernible difference between the two strikers in terms of costs.

With it being reported that the majority of the decision makers at Arsenal (including Arteta) want Sesko, it seems likely that a concerted effort will now be made to secure his signature.

In other news, Arsenal have been told to pay in excess of £100m for an England international
