‘He’s Fantastic’ ‘Palhinha Is Way Better’ Fans Discuss Reports That Arsenal Want 6ft 5 Midfield Colossus

Everton’s Amadou Onana is among the players that Arsenal are keeping tabs on, according to the Daily Mail.

The 6ft 5 midfielder has impressed in recent weeks playing for the Toffees, who have responded incredibly well after a 10-point deduction.

Onana is said to be one of four midfielders (along with Fulham’s Joao Palhinha and Aston Villa pair Douglas Luiz & Jacob Ramsey) that the Gunners are scouting, but fans on X are split on whether the Belgian international would be a good signing:

Onana won’t be available on the cheap

Everton paid £33.5m to sign the 22-year-old from Lille last year, and it has since been suggested that the Merseyside club would demand almost double that figure to sell him.

For that reason, the Gunners would probably steer clear of Onana, unless they decide to sell Thomas Partey and put some of the proceeds towards signing his replacement.

Arsenal would have competition for the player

Everton had to see off West Ham to secure Onana’s services, and it is believed that the Hammers have retained an interest in the player.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have also reportedly scouted the Belgian over the past 12 months so Mikel Arteta’s side would likely have a battle on their hands to snap him up.
