Everton are “open to selling” Arsenal target Amadou Onana, according to TEAMtalk.

The Toffees have to raise funds if they want to buy players this summer because of Financial Fairplay rules and Onana is one of their most saleable assets.

They paid Lille £33.5m for the Belgian last summer and TEAMtalk claim that the Merseyside club would expect to make a “big profit” if they do decide to offload him before the transfer window closes.

Other reports have suggested that Onana’s asking price could be as high as £55m, so he certainly wouldn’t be cheap if Arsenal do decide to step up their interest.

A replacement for Thomas Partey?

It is believed that the Gunners are open to selling Partey if a good enough bid is tabled. With it being claimed that clubs from Saudi Arabia could offer as much as £40m for the 30-year-old, there is a chance that the Ghanaian will leave.

Southampton’s Romeo Lavia has been touted as a replacement but the teenager is also attracting interest from Liverpool. He would cost a similar amount of money to Onana at £50m, so it could be the case that the Everton star is being looked at as an alternative.

There could be competition for Onana’s signature

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old too, while West Ham have been tipped to make a move as they look for replacements for Declan Rice.

A lot will depend on who is willing to pay up but it seems clear that Everton will listen to offers. It could be a transfer that is considered later on in the summer, once the Gunners have made some money through player sales.

In addition to Partey, Mikel Arteta’s side are keen to sell the likes of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, Cedric and Nicolas Pepe.
