£63M-Rated Arsenal And Chelsea Target Reveals Transfer Stance Ahead Of January Window

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has revealed his opinion on reports suggesting that Arsenal and Chelsea want to sign him.

The Sweden international has been linked to Arsenal in recent months as the Gunners look to add a striker in January to boost their attacking threat and chances of winning the Premier League title.

Arsenal comes of the back of a 1-1 draw against Chelsea who ironically are also linked over a move for Isak as the Blues were a potential destination for him over the summer.

The Newcastle striker is yet to sign a new contract at St James’ Park which has sparked reports that suggest he could be on the move to a Premier League rival.

However, the attacker quelled the rumours when he spoke to the Chronicle this week. He said: “Throughout my career, I have never talked about or really commented on the move rumours during the season. I am commenting on my situation in Newcastle and I have never had any problem there.

“I am fully focused on my task there and that we will have a fantastic season. There are still great opportunities for that. I have no thoughts about anything else. The only thing I can say is that a lot of information and rumours often come out but much of what I read is not true.”

Arsenal have alternative targets to Isak

If the Gunners aren’t to pursue Isak then they have been linked to other strikers who could potentially come to the Emirates during the January transfer window.

Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP has been linked to Arsenal for several months now, although reports have recently emerged that he could join former boss Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.

The Gunners have also been linked over a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen who is on loan from Napoli. He is set to leave the Italian club permanently in the summer after expressing his desire to move on.
