Arsenal are weighing up moves for both Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Hammarby’s Bazoumana Toure, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Gunners have been interested in signing Isak for quite some time and Plettenberg says they are “monitoring the situation” of the Swedish international.
Contract talks between Isak and Newcastle collapsed earlier this season and, while his current deal extends to 2028, there is a chance the player could seek a move away from St James’ Park.
Plettenberg believes any formal approach for the striker will likely depend on Edu’s successor as sporting director.
Arsenal are eyeing a move for Toure
In addition to Isak, Plettenberg claims that Mikel Arteta’s side have also looked at a young Ivorian winger who is currently plying his trade in Denmark.
Toure is only 18 years of age, and he only joined Hammarby from ASEC Mimosas back in March, but he has already turned heads with his performances, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists in 23 appearances.
The teenager is left-footed so he would probably be signed as a backup option for Bukayo Saka who he could learn a lot from.
How much would the two players cost?
Multiple reports have suggested that Hammarby would demand around €10m (£8.3m) for Toure, which is not a fee that Arsenal would have trouble paying.
However, there is a lot of competition for the youngster’s signature with the likes of North London rivals Tottenham, Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig all in the mix.
There is less definitive information on Isak’s asking price but it has been claimed that Newcastle value the forward at around £115m. There could also be competition from rival Premier League teams, with Chelsea having been credited with an interest in the player as well.
