Arsenal Trailing In Alvaro Morata Transfer Race

It seems that Arsenal’s slow transfer tactics are once again failing the club. Morata who has been linked to the North Londoners since the beginning of 2014, could join Wolfsburg after the Germans offered Real £15.9 million. Despite having obvious squad problems, Wenger does not seem too eager to start spending big. He is also on the verge of losing Vermaelen who looks set on following Sagna to Manchester. According to the Independent, Morata has no place with Real who already have some fantastic attacking players. Juventus are also interested in the 21 year old who will leave Spain after the World Cup comes to an end.

Hopefully Real will receive a decent offer from Wenger who is in desperate need of a striker to help or even replace Giroud who has done most of the goal-scoring work by himself throughout the season. The biggest problem Arsenal have with Morata’s transfer refers to the contract Real Madrid will want to sign. Apparently the Spaniards want to insert a buy-back clause in their deal so as to be able to re-buy the striker for the exact same amount of money received when he left. With that in mind, Wenger might want to focus more on Mandzukic or Balotelli who are both leaving their teams at the end of the World Cup. The Gunners will want to sign at least one or two new strikers one of which should be a star quality player similar to Ozil we hope.
