Arsenal Tracking 20 Goal Target Man As They Plan For Life Without Aubameyang

Arsenal have been scouting Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst as they look for potential replacements for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to BILD.

The German tabloid report that the Gunners are tracking the €35m (£32m) rated Dutchman, who scored 20 goals in all competitions for his club this campaign.

Weghorst is very much a target man, standing at 6ft 5in tall and, it must be said, it would be a big surprise if he was seriously being considered as a potential target considering how Mikel Arteta likes to play the game.

His strongest asset is his aerial ability, and while he is also capable with his feet, Arteta’s brand of football would not take advantage of his key strength.

It still remains to be seen whether Aubameyang will actually leave the Emirates. The Arsenal captain has stated he has yet to make up his mind about his future, despite having just one year remaining on his contract at the club.
