Arsenal Top The List For Most Injured Players In The Premier League

The Gunners lead the standings when it comes to most injured players in a season. Statistics show that since 2002, Arsenal have had to deal with the most health problems. According to Metro, Wenger’s side has had to handle almost 900 injuries in the past decade. Next in line are Manchester who are pretty far away compared to the Gunners. Most said that bad luck is the cause for such dreadful statistics. Numbers point to a deficiency in handling effort.

After almost 10 years, Arsenal recently changed part of their medical staff but things were not fixed. After just a couple of games, several players had to be set aside due to medical problems. Muscle issues are very common among the North Londoners who have probably lost a lot of trophies because key footballers were unable to carry on through an entire season without recovering for a month or two.

Wenger often blamed the fact that the squad is too thin. It is very unlikely though that in almost a decade, Arsenal did not have enough alternatives to rest those who were prone to injury. What is even worse is the fact that some players have repeatedly fallen to injury even after their recovery was done. Abou Diaby is by far the leader of this unpleasant statistic, managing somehow to pick up 40 different injuries. If all the time spent recovering is added up it will total up to around 1000 days. Hopefully, Arsenal’s new medical staff will change something for the Gunners.
