Arsenal Told To Up Offer By 13M As They Pursue Argentinian With 11 Goals And 6 Assists Last Season

Arsenal have tabled an offer worth €20m (£17.2m) for Lazio attacking midfielder Joaquin Correa, according to reports in the Italian media.

However, it is believed that the bid has fallen well short of the Argentinian international’s asking price, with Lazio not expected to accept anything less than €35m (£30m).

The Gunners are looking to add creativity and goals to their midfield, and Correa would certainly fit the bill, considering he hit the back of the net 11 times last campaign, as well as contributing six assists.

It is believed that the London club did make an offer in excess of £30m for Norwich’s Emi Buendia, before the winger opted for Aston Villa, so the funds are likely to be there if they want to meet Lazio’s demands for Correa.

They won’t want the deal hijacked by another Premier League team again, though, and they may have to act quickly with Everton also said to be after the Lazio midfielder.
