Arsenal Told They Must Pay 35M If They Want To Secure Transfer Of 29 Goal Marksman

Brentford have slapped a £35m price tag on top goalscorer Ivan Toney, according to Football League World.

Arsenal, West Ham and Leeds United are all believed to be keeping tabs on the 25-year-old’s situation, but his valuation may well put off potential suitors.

The Gunners are likely to be in the market for a new centre forward in the summer if Alexandre Lacazette is allowed to leave the Emirates. The Frenchman has been in excellent form recently but he has just one year remaining on his contract.

Manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he will sit down and talk with the 29-year-old about his future at the end of the season. However, the fact that no negotiations have taken place over extending his current deal, has increased suspicion that he could be set to depart.

Toney would certainly be an interesting replacement. The former Newcastle United academy graduate has played just two games in the top flight, making two substitute appearances for the Magpies back in the 2015/16 season. However, his 29 goals in the Championship this campaign have made him hot property.
