Arsenal To Target World Cup Revelation, Mexico Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa

Wenger has opened talks with Mexico’s goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa who recently became one of the most talked about players currently playing in the World Cup. The 28 year old managed an amazing performance against Brazil which encouraged both Arsenal and Liverpool to start negotiations. According to the Daily Express, the former Ajaccio No.1 will choose a team right after the World Cup ends for his national team. He is currently a free agent which means it is going to be strictly the player’s option. Hopefully Arsenal will convince Ochoa to move to the Emirates Stadium as soon as possible considering Szczesny is soon to become the Gunners’ only goalkeeper. With Fabianski and Viviano set to leave at the end of the month, Wenger should push forward in order to sign Ochoa who is also being targeted by Monaco.

The Mexican international admitted to the fact that he is keen on staying in Ligue 1 after Ajaccio failed to make the cut. Even so, he might not turn down an offer from a club as important as Arsenal as long as they provide the proper financial conditions.

It would not be a problem for Arsenal to sign the 28 year old considering they will not have to pay Fabianski and Viviano’s salary anymore. Ochoa is definitely in the same ballpark with the Polish international when it comes to his weekly wage. With Wenger right there in Brazil, things might be looking up for Arsenal who have failed to make any transfers up until now.
