Arsenal To Swoop In And Grab Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata who was on Arsenal’s list during last summer’s transfer window as well, is now determined to leave Madrid. Apparently he is free to join any team which meets the Spanish side’s financial expectations. According to Metro, he is valued at £24 million which would not be a problem for the Gunners and their £100 million transfer budget. The 21 year old who managed 8 goals in his first appearances for Real has been given permission to leave for a smaller amount of money given his future club includes a buy-back clause. This might cut as much as £10 million off of his normal price which is even better for Arsenal especially with Wenger’s strict negotiation policy.

Arsenal are not the only ones interested in Morata. Juventus and Inter are also keen on signing the young striker who managed some great performances despite lacking maturity at times. There could be some issues which might prevent Wenger from actually placing a bid on Morata. The Spaniard has a similar profile to that of Giroud. He would make a decent replacement for the Frenchman but he will not be able to play next to the Gunners’ striker. Arsenal need someone who is a bit faster and skilful than Morata who is 6.3ft tall. It is very likely that Wenger will prefer former Gunner, Carlos Vela over Morata who might be a risky investment considering he has never played in the Premier League.
