Arsenal To Submit Second Lemar Bid

Arsenal To Submit Second Lemar Bid

Monaco’s super season last term was there for all to see. As well as winning the Ligue 1 title, the city-state also reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, beating the likes of Manchester City on the way. It will be a season to remember for the side, but this summer will certainly put a dampener on any achievements they made last season.

Pretty much every Monaco player is wanted by almost every club around, there’s no denying that things could be set to get very ugly in the transfer window. Mbappe, Fabinho, Mendy and Bakayoko are just a few of the stars who look destined for big moves away, with Bernardo Silva having already made his £43m move to Manchester City.

In the case of Thomas Lemar, things are no different. The winger has been targeted by a host of top European clubs after his brilliant displays last season.

The youngster managed 14 goals and 14 assists, earning all sorts of praise from fans and pundits alike. Arsenal have already seen a £30m bid for the Frenchman rejected this week, but according to various reports, they are set to make a second bid around £35m in order to seal the transfer and fend off rival interest.

Wenger sees Lemar as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez who is rumoured to be on the way out of the club. The club are said to be resigned to losing the star as speculation grows that Manchester City are closing in on landing him in a £50m deal. 21-year-old Lemar will have some big boots to fill if he replaces Sanchez, but from what we have seen so far there is no reason to believe he can’t.
