Arsenal To Strengthen Their Defense

Wenger has not lost sight when it comes to investing in Arsenal’s long-term future. The Frenchman is not only interested in bringing in some fire-power but is also keen on signing reinforcements to secure the Gunners’ defensive line.

According to Yahoo! Eurosport, Cheikhou Kouyate might be offered a permanent move to North London. The young Senegal international also expressed his desire to move to the Premier League as soon as the right offer comes his way.

Kouyate who has made 111 appearances for Anderlecht has been with the Belgian side for 6 years now and is definitely looking for a change of scenery. The 24 year old will apparently have to choose between Arsenal and Liverpool who both want to secure the youngster’s signature as soon as possible.

Arsenal are on their second attempt to sign the center back. In 2012, Wenger could not finalize the move because of some work permit issues. Since then, Kouyate received his Belgian passport which gives him the green light to play anywhere in Europe.

On paper things look great for Arsenal who could sure use some fresh, enthusiastic players to hold back the adversaries’ attacks. Kouyate would make a great addition to the team especially with the busy period the Gunners will have to go through during the next few motnths.
