Arsenal To Replace Roberts With Chelsea’s Christophe Lollichon

With just a couple of days until the transfer window is officially opened, some interesting news emerged regarding Arsenal’s goalkeeping staff. Tony Roberts who is a fan favorite at Emirates, was allowed to leave for Swansea to become one of the main people handling keeper training. According to the Daily Mail, the 45 was highly appreciated and could not be denied the chance to take on more responsibility and a more important role with the Swans.

A positive thing might come out of this deal as Petr Cech might have found a new reason to come to Emirates. Apparently the 33 year old is very close to Christophe Lollichon who is currently Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach next to Mourinho’s man brought directly from Real Madrid.

It seems that the quality of the training can only go up if Cech signs with Arsenal and brings Lollichon with him. The Frenchman is so good and so close to Chelsea’s stopper that Mourinho just could not replace him when returning at Stamford Bridge. The highly rated coach might now be part of a package deal which might end up costing Wenger a bit more but would definitely be worth it.

Cech is expected to cost Arsenal £11million part of which will probably be paid by redirecting some of the funds resulting from Ospina’s transfer. The Colombian is close to Fener even if he has not spent a whole year at Emirates. Szczesny on the other hand is expected to stay despite all the bad press and troublesome relationship with the club. It is still early to tell who will be Wenger’s next three keepers but at least one or two changes are bound to happen when it comes to keepers and keeper coaching.
