Arsenal To Postpone Schneiderlin’s Transfer Until The End Of The Season

Southampton is looking to get the most out of the squad before the summer transfer window. Just like last year, they will have a lot to think about with players like Schneiderlin valued at over £25m. Arsenal are first in line for the 25 year old midfielder who is seen as the perfect replacement for Arteta. According to the London Evening Standard, the Gunners will have to outbid Tottenham who are also interested in securing the French International’s signature. Out of the many names linked to Arsenal, Schneiderlin’s seems the most likely to be seen in next season’s line up.

Wenger is in pretty good relations with Southampton and will probably manage to reach an agreement with the team that is now Arsenal’s direct adversary for the Champions League. The Gunners will want to surpass the Saints not only to make it to the group stages but also to be sure they will sell their most important players. It is very likely that missing out on the Champions League will get Southampton to allow players like Schneiderlin to leave.

Until the end of the season, Wenger is still in desperate need of reinforcements especially in the defensive department. Schneiderlin would have been a great addition to the team but unfortunately a January offer does not look very promising. Even so, the Frenchman should still be a priority for Arsenal who need to think about the fact that both Flamini and Arteta will probably rethink their situation at the Emirates at the end of the season and good replacements will need to be signed and prompty we hope.

The good news today is that Mesut Ozil is available for selection for the Southampton match ao we can look forward to the German’s long overdue return.
