Arsenal finally have some good news coming their way. Mikel Arteta has decided to continue playing on at the Emirates for at least one more year. According to Metro, the captain is clearly determined not to abandon ship even though the times are tough. The North Londoners seem to have struck a rough patch which may cost them the entire season. The atmosphere at the club is deteriorating fast with both players and staff expressing their disappointment with how things are going. Players are clearly lacking determination and are have trouble getting along. This is one of the reasons Arteta should stay. Without him, things would go south even quicker.

Despite being 32, he looks fit and able to play without a problem. If he manages to stay away from injuries he could easily lead the team for a couple more years. Even if some fans have been angry with the way the Spaniard has opertaed lately, Wenger is confident he can get a lot more from the midfielders over the following months. Currently seen as the only solution to link the defenders to the midfielders, Arteta has had indeed some pretty mediocre performances. What most don’t know is that his lack of form is due to the fact that he has been playing despite dealing with injuries. Currently one of the most dedicated players within the club, the Spaniard would be a big loss for the Gunners. Hopefully his renewal will get signed as soon as possible as well as him returning to full fitness which would be a huge shot in the arm to everyone at the Emirates.
