Arsenal To Handle Tough Competition In Race For Marcelo Brozovic

Arsenal’s targets seem to be going down one by one with other teams moving a lot faster and more aggressively than Wenger. The Frenchman who managed an impressive run this summer, is not similarly convinced he needs to bring in reinforcements this winter. Despite having obvious trouble handling the gaps left by Arteta and Flamini when both are injured or unavailable, no new midfielders were signed. According to the Daily Star, the Gunners’ latest target, Marcelo Brozovic has been offered a better deal by Valencia who are close to matching Dinamo Zagreb’s expectations.

Wenger does not looks convinced that Brozovic is worth £8m and they might be right. The Croatian international who is under contract until 2019 favors performing in a similar position to that of Ramsey which is not that helpful for the club. Despite his ability to use both feet and his excellent speed and skill, the 22 year old would have a hard time running up and down the middle of the field to disrupt the adversary’s attack and also create opportunities for his team.

With that in mind, it is understandable why Wenger has been holding off. If he does decide to make a move, he will have to continue fighting Valencia, AC Milan, Everton and Liverpool for the youngster’s approval. Hopefully Arsenal will be able to bring in someone more like City’s Yaya Toure who is currently holding the most responsibility for the Citizens.
