Arsenal To Face Yet Another Obstacle In Signing Draxler

Arsenal have been linked repeatedly to Schalke’s Julian Draxler. The youngster who is one of the most promising players in European football, has come very close to joining the North Londoners this summer. Unfortunately, the big price tag set by the Germans has prevented the 21 year old to moving to the Premier League. According to TalkSport, Arsenal have to face another obstacle besides the large asking price. Chelsea’s former manager, Roberto Di Matteo is now in charge of the German side. Despite criticizing Draxler on several occasions, the former Italian international will probably do whatever it takes not to lose the forward who currently is the team’s most iconic player.

Draxler seems like he has been around for years and could fit in perfectly with Arsenal. With the 11 players out on injury Wenger has to deal with, signing the 21 year old will be a priority next year. Draxler can perform on a similar position to that of Ozil with the added bonus that he is more incisive in front of goal. Draxler also seems to have the physique necessary to make it in the Premier League.

With the January transfer window closing in, Wenger will have to move fast. Draxler is definitely a steal just as Sanchez or Fabregas were this summer. Because of his poor relationship with Di Matteo, it is very likely that he will request to be granted permission to leave and cut his contract short.
