Arsenal To Continue Negotiations After Transfer Deadline

Arsenal need to save up for the summer if they plan on bringing in Marco Reus. The German International is rumored to have snubbed serious offers this January in order to wait for Wenger to make the final steps towards sealing the deal with Dortmund. According to the Daily Star, Reus is planning on moving to London in June when Arsenal will pay his buy-out clause. As a sign of respect the 25 year old decided to stay with his team until the end of the season despite the poor form Dortmund has shown during the past few months.

Even though Reus looks very keen on moving to the Premier League, it seems it was not his first choice to start negotiations with a British team. Bayern should have been his next destination if not for the club’s refusal to send £20m to their former Champions League final adversaries. Guardiola was the one who passed on this chance mostly because he already has enough offensive players and would have a hard time finding a spot for Reus despite his obvious qualities.

Arsenal on the other hand would get a major boost in quality by securing Reus’s signature. The 25 year old is incredibly versatile and could be the perfect second striker Wenger has been looking for during the past few years. He could also be the left winger everyone has been waiting for in order to put together one of the most impressive attacks in the world. Having Reus, Giroud and Sanchez in the same line would give shivers to any defense.
